Customer Relations, Accounts and Executive Assistant

About the Position
This is a full-time position suitable for a dynamic self-driven individual with excellent interpersonal skills who requires minimal supervision. The person that joins our team will find themselves both challenged and inspired by a fast-past work environment that rewards creativity, thoughtfulness and provides substantial opportunity for advancement.
Job functions include:
- managing the President's schedule and screening calls;
- handling customer inquiries and related reception duties;
- processing book orders and event registrations;
- maintaining and updating Cygnus’ Customer Relations Management (CRM) Database;
- managing office needs, including dealing with suppliers;
- communicating with industry representatives and the media about Cygnus’ future research and activities;
- bookkeeping and other light accounting duties associated with order transactions, record keeping and tracking;
- creating inventory, sales and performance reports.
About the Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- the ability to provide superior administrative, customer relations and executive support;
- exceptional telephone manner and upbeat customer service-oriented demeanor;
- superior English language proficiency, both written and oral;
- be an adaptable, quick-thinker able to handle the multiple responsibilities of a small office environment and meet new challenges;
- experience with order processing, data entry and managing customer lists and/or database records in an electronic system;
- an accurate and fast typist with mastery of Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint;
- educational background in business administration, public relations and/or experience working in an office or customer service-focused environment
- Minimum five years work experience.
In addition, possessing the following assets or experience will strongly enhance your application:
- knowledge of Salesforce or similar customer relations management databases;
- bookkeeping and/or accounting experience;
- public relations and/or event management or promotion experience.
Starting Salary
$35,000 to $37,500
